Featured Pickle
Sweet & Sour is our unique twist on the classic bread-and-butter pickle. We added brown sugar, cinnamon and ginger to make it healthier and changed the recipe to give it more crunch. Eat Sweet & Sour pickles with lunch, dinner or as a snack.
Ingredients: locally grown cucumbers, spring water, white vinegar, cider vinegar, brown sugar, celery seed, mustard seed, corriander, bay leaves, salt, dill seed, cinammon, ginger, allspice, red pepper, black pepper, cloves, turmeric.
Artisanal Pickles?
Alexandra's pickles are made from local, hand-picked produce and all-natural ingredients. They’re artisanal pickles, but Alexandra would never call them that — it sounds too posh.
Instead, she'd wave you away and say “they're just made very carefully, that's all.”

Alexandra's Story
Alexandra came to Canada from a small town in Europe in 1978. She quickly married and devoted her entire young life to her family and to her husband's restaurant.
Thirty years later, with two sons grown and the restaurant sold, Alexandra was hungry to do something for herself. She wanted to share with people some of the hundreds of recipes she had created.
So she started with pickles.
"Why pickles mom?" asked her sons.
"Because people love pickles," she said "and these are delicious."
"That's true, but pickles aren't trendy" replied her sons.
"Nonsense," she said. "Pickles have been around for thousands of years.
Pickles are tasty and crunchy and satisfying. Pickles are wonderful."
Needless to say, Alexandra was right. Pickles really are wonderful. That was the end of the discussion — and the beginning of Alexandra's Pickles.
